Enchanted Valley: The Crown Jewel of Olympic National Park
Step into a living fairy tale on this unforgettable 4- or 5-day guided backpacking journey to the legendary Enchanted Valley—often called the “Valley of Ten Thousand Waterfalls.” From the mossy embrace of the Quinault Rainforest, follow the gentle East Fork Quinault River as it carves through cathedral groves of ancient cedar and Douglas fir, sunlight filtering through fern canopies in shafts of emerald light. Cross crystal streams on log bridges, then emerge into the breathtaking openness of the Enchanted Valley itself: a sweeping alpine meadow framed by sheer 3,000-foot cliffs laced with silvery waterfalls that thunder straight from hanging valleys above. Watch Roosevelt elk graze at dawn, spot black bears foraging among wildflowers, and fall asleep beneath a blanket of stars so vivid they seem close enough to touch. This is Olympic National Park at its most magical—remote, serene, and soul-restoring.

Adventure Itinerary
Tour Itinerary (4 & 5 Day options)
Day 1
Our guided backpacking tour of the Enchanted Valley in Olympic National Park will begin with pickup from our Olympia, WA hotel partner. From there, we will head out on a 2.5 hour scenic drive across the Olympic Peninsula to our starting trailhead. Upon arrival tour or trailhead we will embark on the first leg of our epic journey through the moss-laden old growth forest that we will spend the next 4-5 days exploring. Our hike today will be approximately 5-7 miles (permit itinerary dependent) of moderate hiking through the lush forest with a number of river and creek crossings along the way. Make sure to lookout for the epic exposed root systems of fallen trees as well as a plethora of animal and plant life. Tonight will be spent camping along the serene Quinault River as the crisp water whispers along.
Day 2
Today is the day! Following a tasty breakfast prepared by your guide, we will break down camp and start our final push to our ultimate destination, the Enchanted Valley. We will hike approximately 4-6 miles on our way to the valley today. Upon our arrival, we will be met with majestic views of the towering waterfalls cascading down the sides of the mountain, open lush valleys and the famous Enchanted Valley Chalet. The rest of our day will be spent relaxing and exploring the valley, soaking in the beauty and reveling in all of the grandeur that truly gives a feeling of enchantment.
Optional Day 3
On the 5 day variation of this tour, we have the option to continue our hike through the valley up the heart pumping trail to Anderson Pass. From our lookout at the top of the pass, we will have amazing views of the surrounding Olympic wilderness, mountains and forest. Our hike will be approximately 10.5 miles round trip with an exhilarating 3000ft of elevation gain to reach the pass. This hike is not for the faint of the heart and will take the totality of our day to complete.
Second to last day
We get up for an early breakfast to pack up camp and head out back to our starting point. It is a beautiful 5-7 mile hike back through the evergreen forest and mossy cedars to reach our final nights campground, again along the Quinault River.
Final day
Today we will make our final push back to our starting trailhead where our tour will culminate and we can begin to soak in the magical experience of the previous 3-4 days. Once our entire group has finished the hike, we will leave the trailhead and make our way back to the Olympia, WA hotel where we will say our final goodbyes.
