Grand Canyon Base Camp
Adventure Details
Base Camp
Our Grand Canyon Base Camp tour is the best way to experience the canyon, hike the trails and explore the history without backpacking down into in it. On our Base Camp Experience, we make our way up to the Grand Canyon from Scottsdale and upon arrival, we will get our first views of the canyon before heading over to camp at the Mather Campground on the South Rim. On our 3 day tour (2 day option available) we will head out for hikes on multiple trails in the Grand Canyon and explore the Visitor Center, Desert View Watch Tower and Grand Canyon Village areas for a full, in depth historical overview of the National Park.
Adventure Itinerary
Day 1:
We will depart from Scottsdale at 8am to make our way up to the canyon passing through the many different ecological regions of Arizona along the way. Upon our arrival at the canyon, we will eat our lunch at a popular overlook and explore the museums, shops, historical locations and visitors center at the South Rim. We will finish our day with dinner and camping at the Mather Campground.
Day 2:
Wake up to the fresh smell of coffee and breakfast and prepare for our day hike into the canyon that will be bulk of our day. We have multiple options for trail depending on the hiking level of the group but our go to is the iconic Bright Angel Trail located in the midst of the Grand Canyon Village. Following our hike, we will head back to camp and have free time to rest or add optional excursions such as Horseback Rides, Helicopter Rides and Jeep tours. Please inquire about adding additional activities at time of booking. (On option 2 day tour, we will make our way back to Scottsdale following the conclusion of our hike)
Day 3:
On day 3 of our tour we will again wake up for breakfast before heading out on another incredible hike into the canyon to explore even more of the remarkable area. Following the hike we will make our way back to Scottsdale for the conclusion of the tour.
