Sedona & Grand Canyon South Rim - 4 Day Inn-Based Hiking Tour
Experience the best of northern Arizona on this immersive 4-day hiking adventure, combining the red rock landscapes of Sedona with the world-class trails and epic views of the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. We begin with a scenic drive from Phoenix to Sedona, where towering sandstone formations, sculpted canyons, and vibrant desert scenery set the stage for our journey. Our day of hiking in Sedona features one of the region’s iconic trails, offering sweeping views, fascinating geology, and opportunities to learn about the area’s rich cultural and natural history before continuing on to the Grand Canyon.
Once at the South Rim, we spend three unforgettable days exploring the Grand Canyon’s most renowned trails and viewpoints. Our first canyon day includes stops at breathtaking overlooks along Hermit Road, followed by a picnic at historic Hermit’s Rest. In the afternoon, we descend the South Kaibab Trail to Cedar Ridge, where expansive panoramic views reveal the immense scale and layered beauty of the canyon.
On day three, we hike the legendary Bright Angel Trail, traveling to either the 1.5- or 3-Mile Resthouse, surrounded by towering rock walls and sweeping inner-canyon vistas. After a picnic lunch along the trail, we return to the rim and enjoy dinner at the historic El Tovar Hotel or another fine South Rim restaurant.
Our final day takes us down the rugged and less-traveled Grandview Trail, offering a deeper sense of exploration and solitude. We conclude with a scenic drive along Desert View Drive, stopping at the iconic Desert View Watchtower before exiting the park through the east entrance. Traveling through the Navajo Nation, we return to Phoenix with unforgettable memories of Arizona’s most spectacular landscapes.
