Embarking on a guided tour of Yosemite National Park offers an immersive experience that combines the thrill of hiking with the convenience of expert guidance. Yosemite, renowned for its dramatic landscapes, features awe-inspiring granite cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and ancient sequoias. A guided tour ensures you don’t miss the park’s hidden gems and helps you navigate its diverse terrain safely.
Discovery Treks Yosemite Trekker tour include hikes tailored to various fitness levels, from gentle walks to more challenging trails. Guides will share fascinating insights into Yosemite’s geology, flora, and fauna, enriching your understanding of the park's natural wonders. Popular hikes lead you to iconic landmarks like El Capitan and serene spots like Mirror Lake.
On this 5 day guided hiking adventure, we will be based out of a lodge in the Yosemite area giving us great access to many of the different trails and sights throughout Yosemite National park while also giving us comfortable accommodations each night.
Whether you're a seasoned hiker or a novice explorer, a guided tour of Yosemite provides a well-rounded adventure, blending physical activity with educational enrichment amidst one of America's most spectacular natural landscapes.
Adventure Itinerary
Day 1:
- We will depart from our Oakhurst partner hotel at 8am to make our way into Yosemite National Park
- Upon entering the park, we will make our way to our first hike up to Vernal and Nevada Falls (6.5 miles round trip)
- Following completion of our hike, we will make our way to Glacier Point for our first expansive and scenic views of Yosemite National Park
- After a long day of touring, we will check in to our hotel for an evening of relaxation before our next big day of exploration!
Day 2:
- Today we will make our way along the Tioga Pass Road out to the serene Tuolumne Meadows
- On our way, we will make a number of scenic stops including stopping at Olmstead Point for excellent views of Clouds Rest and Half Dome as well as the Northern region of Yosemite
- Once we arrive in Tuolumne Meadows, we will embark on an afternoon hike to Cathedral Lakes (8 miles round trip)
- After our hike we will make our way to Tenaya Lake for a sunset dinner before heading back to our lodge for the evening.
Day 3:
- Today we will make our way out along Tioga Pass Road to reach the iconic North Dome hike! (10 miles round trip)
- On our hike we will get expansive views of the park, stopping at the renowned Indian Rock Arch along the way
- Following our hike, we will head back to our lodge for rest and leisure and rest time before our next big hike tomorrow!
Day 4:
- Today our hiking adventure will take us to May Lake and Mount Hoffman.
- The hike to May lake is a relatively easy hike but for those that prefer a more challenging and exhilarating experience, we will have the opportunity to attempt the summit of Mt. Hoffman (6 miles round trip)
Day 5:
- For our final day of touring, we will make our way to the Mariposa Grove to cap off our trip with views of the amazing Giant Sequoias before making our way back to Oakhurst where our tour of the natural beauty that is Yosemite National park, will end
This is the general tour itinerary for this 5 day trek. In some cases, itineraries are subject to change depending on weather, road closures and other park conditions.
What's Included
- Hotel stays from night 1 of the tour to the final day (4 total nights included). Hotels are included as double occupancy at a minimum. If traveling solo, you will be required to pay the additional single supplement fee of $1000 to offset the cost of the hotels.
- All meals from breakfast day 1 through lunch on the final day of the tour. Meals will consist of picnic style lunches, trail lunches, snacks, restaurant options and to-go food meals.
- Day Packs and trekking poles, micro-spikes during winter months
- Professional Hiking Guide with specific outdoor medical training and extensive hiking and backpacking experience
- Safety and first aid equipment including GPS location and messaging device
- Round trip transportation
- All park entrance fees
What's NOT Included
- Hotel stays the night before the tour starts and the night the tour finishes.
- Personal clothing, toiletries, sunscreen and hiking boots
- Rain Gear or other weather specific clothing
- Water Bladders or water bottles
- Alcoholic Beverages
- Airfare
- Guide Gratuities - industry standard recommended gratuity ranges from $50-$75/day/person.
